Eli Goldratt was an Israeli business management consultant, speaker, and author. He is best known for developing the Theory of Constraints (TOC), a management philosophy that focuses on identifying and removing bottlenecks in an organization's processes in order to improve overall performance.
The algorithms used by the Retailisation software are based on Goldratt's principles, more specifically on the ones described in Dynamic Buffer Management.
Goldratt wrote several books on TOC, including the best-selling "The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement," which has been translated into over 30 languages and is widely used as a textbook in business management courses. He also developed the TOC-based software, called "Eli Goldratt's TOC Thinking Processes" which aim to help organizations to better manage their constraints and improve their performance. He was also a pioneer in applying TOC in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, project management, and services. He passed away on June 11, 2011.
